Abstract

A low power (100 W) pulse spectrometer is described for work in solids, and the use of the spectrometer for performing the Waugh ``line narrowing'' multiple pulse experiments is demonstrated and discussed in detail. The performance of these measurements with a low power spectrometer is made possible by controlling the nature of the transient responses of tuned circuits within the spectrometer, and means for nullifying the effects of such transients on the effective rotation axis of an rf pulse are presented.
