Teacher certification

Abstract

The need for computer education for secondary school teachers has become quite apparent over the past few years. Such education has been accomplished, for the most part, by in-service training, summer institutes or graduate programs.This paper recommends undergraduate teacher certification in computer science and gives the steps necessary for approval of a certification program for the state of Texas. In addition, coursework for a certification program is discussed.
