Abstract

A new one-step method of rainbow holography is described which makes use of the full aperture of the object wave. Translational motion imparted to the object or a superposed diffuse background during recording generates an aperture of transmittance proportional to the sinc function in the reconstruction. The secondary maxima of the sinc function can be suppressed using a two-exposure recording. The basic theory and some preliminary experimental results are presented.
