In vivo administration of antisense angiotensinogen oligonucleotides resulted in a transient decrease in blood pressure accompanied by a decrease in plasma angiotensinogen and angiotensin II levels, which suggests that angiotensinogen plays a pivotal role in the regulation of blood pressure in normotensive rats.
