A selenium solar cell has been developed. Its maximum efficiency is 2.7% for an AMI light (100 mW/cm 2 ) and 8.0% for a fluorescent lamp light. The cells are fabricated at low temperature using only vacuum evaporation. This results in a low cost device with high production efficiency. Current-voltage characteristics under illumination show that both series and shunt resistances decrease with illumination intensity.
