Because ruptured posterior fossa aneurysms manifest with the nonaneurysmal pattern of hemorrhage in approximately 10% of cases, a high degree of suspicion should be maintained even if the pattern of subarachnoid hemorrhage suggests a nonaneurysmal origin and clinical symptoms are mild.
