Abstract

Abstract Under lab. conditions (saturation humidity and 22.3–28.0° C and 31.0° C) the eggs of Bemisia tabaci hatched at averages of 10.7‐7.1 and 5.9 days. On sweet potato at 25.4° C and saturation humidity the three larval instars and pupal stage extendet on the averages 4.5‐2.7‐2.6 and 6.2 days. There were no significant differences in duration of immature stages between two host plants (sweet potato and potato). The Chalcidid Eretmocerus sp. parasitizid the 3rd larval instar and the pupal stage of B. tabaci . Chrysopa sp. (not vulgaris ) predatized larval and pupal stages. In the course of 12 hrs, one larva of Chrysopa predatized 92 B. tabaci larvae and pupae. A hemipterous predator (Fam. Miridae, Trib. Phyllini) was found to suck body fluid of B. tabaci adults. Also an unknown spider predatized the adults (140 adults of B. tabaci during 37 days). Zusammenfassung Biologische Untersuchungen an Bemisia tabaci Genn. (Homopt., Aleyrodidae) in Ägypten Unter Laborbedingungen (100% rel.
