Abstract

A study of photochromism in vacuum deposited spiran film which shows reversible change which occurs between two of three phases, is conducted. The colored form of spiran is considered to be stabilized by hydrogen bonding of neighboring molecules. Infrared spectrum analysis clarifies that this stabilized colored form is attributed to the cisoid form.
