Abstract

The methyl groups of silaethene Me 2 SiC(SiMe 3 ) 2 migrate with a rapid shift of the SiC double bond from silicon to silicon atom. This process has been made evident by heating the silaethene (CD 3 ) 2 SiC[Si(CH 3 ) 3 ] 2 , stored with Ph 2 CNSiMe 3 in C 6 D 6 at 120°C.
