Abstract

Doubly autoionizing states formed as a result of capture of the incident electron with simultaneous resonant excitation of a 2p electron in e-Mg+ collisions have been calculated using the R-matrix method. The author includes the most important sixteen autoionizing states arising from the 2p53s2, 2p53s3p and 2p53s3d configurations together with the ground 2p63s 2S and excited 2p63p 2P0 and 2p63d 2D states in the close-coupling expansion. The calculated results compare well with the recent crossed-beam measurement.
