Phase analysis of amorphous resistive films

Abstract

Thin films of evaporated nickel-chromium alloys which give non-crystalline diffraction patterns have been examined by Fourier transform methods. They have been shown to consist of very small crystals of face-centred and body-centred phases. Annealing experiments show crystal growth, and alloys of different nickel-chromium ratios agree with the phase diagram for bulk metals.
