Dipole Moments of Excited Electronic States of Molecules: The 1<i>A</i>2 State of Formaldehyde

Abstract

The π* -n transition of formaldehyde has been investigated extensively. In the present study, Stark splittings of some rotational lines of the 3390 A band have been measured to determine the dipole moment of this excited electronic state.
