Abstract

Chronic paroxysmal hemicrania (CPH) is one of the short-lived head pain syndromes with responsiveness to indomethacin.1,2 The result of indomethacin therapy is dramatic and diagnostic in this condition. However, gastric side effects of indomethacin may make continued treatment impossible. We report a patient with CPH who could not continue indomethacin owing to severe gastric side effects who responded to celecoxib. A woman had sudden onset of short-lived pains on the right side of her head, particularly in the orbital and temple areas, at age 32 years. She had multiple attacks (average 12 to 15 per day) …
