The Hall effect and magnetic susceptibility have been studied using the V50+xRu50-x system to examine the relationship between the structural transformation temperature TL and the superconducting transition temperature Tc. A decrease in the electron/atom ratio e/a from 6.50, which is accompanied by an increase in the parameter x, raises the absolute value of the Hall coefficient in the cubic phase with T>TL while it lowers it in the tetragonal phase with T<TL. On the other hand, a decrease in e/a from 6.50 lowers the susceptibility in the cubic phase and raises it in the tetragonal phase. From these results it is suggested that the electronic density of states varies with e/a in a way similar to the susceptibility data and this variation can be connected with the correlation between TL and Tc that a decrease of e/a lowers TL but raises Tc.
