Large angle elastic scattering of 59.5 keV photons

The work reported has been carried out using an intrinsic germanium detector in order to extend to a lower energy region previous investigation on Rayleigh scattering between 0.1 and 1 MeV. Differential cross sections for Rayleigh scattering of 59.5 keV photons from Sn, Mo, Ta, Er, Cd, Nb and Yb, measured for angles ranging from 60 to 165', are presented. The results are discussed in comparison with theoretical calculations.
