Rayleigh Scattering

Rayleigh Scattering is a scattering phenomenon, within the broader class of light-matter interaction mechanisms, distinguished by the elastic scattering of electromagnetic radiation by particles much smaller than the wavelength of the incident light, wherein the scattered intensity varies inversely with the fourth power of the wavelength and is predominantly observed in homogeneous media under low-size-parameter conditions.
