Abstract The purpose of the present work, relative to anionic polymerization, is to describe the use of DCHE in order to prepare stable alkali metal solutions in low‐dielectric‐constant solvents. All these new species initiate the polymerization of methyl methacrylate avoiding the inconvenience of heterogeneous reactions. The presence of complexed ion pairs increases the syndiotactic structure. The polymerization seems to obey the Bernoullian statistics.
