In this work we report absolute cross sections for electron scattering from CO2, over a range of incident electron energies from 1 eV to 7.5 eV. In particular, the excitation functions of individual vibrational modes have been studied for the first time and found to be strongly influenced by the 2 Pi u resonance at 3.8 eV. The effect of scattering from vibrationally excited CO2 molecules was also studied.
