Abstract

Abstract The dispersion properties of silica‐based photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) are analyzed to obtain: (i) zero dispersion at any wavelength, (ii) nearly zero ultraflattened dispersion, and (iii) a very high negative chromatic dispersion for various designs of PCFs. The influence of normalized air hole size on zero dispersion wavelength is also reported. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
