Spectrophotometric Determination of Perfluoro Carboxylic Acids (Heptanoic to Decanoic) and Sodium Perfluorooctanoate and Decyl Sulfate In Mixtures By Dye-Extraction

Abstract

Abstract Perfluorinated carboxylic acids were extracted into chloroform as a 1:1 ion-pairs with methylene blue and determined spectrophotometrically. the method gave linear calibration plots in the 10-5 range. A method is outlined for the analysis of sodium perfluorooctanoate and sodium decylsulfate in their mixtures.
