Abstract

Recent literature has asserted that adopting venture capital (VC) practices may enhance corporate venturing performance. A survey of 95 corporate venture units across three continents found only limited empirical support for this assertion. Of four VC practices investigated, only syndication-based investment was consistently associated with superior corporate venturing performance.
