Summary This paper reports results of asphaltene adsorption/desorption on clay minerals, silica, and carbonates. It also describes the effect of adsorbed asphaltenes on rock wettability and a screening pyrolysis-flame-ionization-detection (P-FID) test to evaluate the ability of solvents to remove asphaltene from kaolin and formation core material.
