Abstract Irradiation of [(n-C 4 H 9 ) 4 N] 2 [Re 2 l 8 ] at 80 K with exciting laser lines, which approximately coincide with the electronic band maximum at 520 nm, exhibits resonance Raman spectra. Overtone progressions of ν 1 (Re-Re) and ν 2 (Re-I), both A 1g , and many combination tones are observed. The spectroscopic constants are calculated to be ω 1 =258,5 cm -1 , x 11 = - 0,42 cm -1 ; ω 2 -153,0 cm -1 , x12 = - 0,32 cm -1 .
