Abstract

An efficient synthesis of two methyl 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-1-seleno-ß-d-hexopyranosides is reported. The synthesized compounds, which have recently been identified in human urine, will be used in further studies on the metabolism and toxicology of selenium.
