Solution method for nonlinear problems with multiple critical points

Abstract

A generalized displacement control method has been proposed for geometrically nonlinear analysis and has been proven to be bery effective by several problems with multiple limit points and snap-back points. This method can be implemented easily in a general-purpose finite-element program.
