The growing availability of chronic dialysis therapy likewise necessitates a familiarity with the behavior of commonly prescribed drugs during dialytic procedures. Chronic renal failure is often accompanied by hypertensive heart disease, for which digitalis or one of its glycosides may be prescribed. Electrocardiographic changes resembling those encountered with digitalis intoxication may be seen during dialysis (1), and alertness to digitalis toxicity during dialysis has been advised by Lubash and associates (2).We have studied...References1.
