Carbon-13 enrichment in the room temperature multiphoton decomposition of CF₃Br

Abstract

High isotopic selectivities have been observed in the multiphoton decomposition of CF 3 Br at room temperature. Photolysis of natural abundance CF 3 Br gives C 2 F 6 enriched to 42% in carbon-13. This is higher than observed for CF 3 I even at very low temperatures.
