Potential Neuroprotective Effects of Acamprosate

Abstract

This article represents the proceedings of a symposium at the 2001 RSA Meeting in Montreal, Canada. The organizers were Barbara J. Mason and George F. Koob. Anita M. Goodman served as chair. The presentations were (1) Acamprosate inhibits alcohol withdrawal-induced neurotoxicity in organotypic hippocampal cultures, by John Littleton; (2) Acamprosate alteration of NMDA receptor-dependent synaptic transmission and synaptic plasticity, by George R.
