Starspots and the rotation of the flare star EV Lac

Abstract

The magnitude variations of EV Lac outside of flares are discussed. The star shows the effect of starspots. It is argued that the temperature difference between the photosphere and the spot region is only a few hundred degrees. It is noted that the spot group may never disappear completely from view.
