Association between diabetes, family history of diabetes, and risk of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and fibrosis

Abstract

Diabetes is strongly associated with risk of NASH, fibrosis, and advanced fibrosis. Family history of diabetes, especially among nondiabetics, is associated with NASH and fibrosis in NAFLD.
