Abstract

Similarly to pentalene, azulene[¹], and cyclopent[cd]azulene[²],\nthe readily accessible aceheptylene (1)[³] undergoes cycloaddition with activated alkynes to form novel polycyclic systems in a surprisingly simple manner.
