The hyperfine structure of the lines $\ensuremath{\lambda}\ensuremath{\lambda}4191$, 4234, 6082, 6231, 6450 and 6592 of the arc spectrum of cobalt has been studied. The number of components and the interval ratios give a value of $I=\frac{7}{2}$. The nuclear magnetic moment is estimated to be of the order of 2 to 3 small magnetons.
