Stereoselective Total Synthesis of (−)-Copacamphene and (−)-Cyclocopacamphene

Abstract

An efficient and highly stereoselective total synthesis of the novel sesquiterpenes (−)-copacamphene (1) and (−)-cyclocopacamphene (3) is described. This work fully corroborates the structure and absolute stereochemistry assigned to the two sesquiterpenes.
