Arylsulfanes—Synthesis and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectra

Abstract

The synthesis of a series of variously substituted arylsulfanes of the general formula RC 6 H 4 S x H is described. The proton n.m.r. spectra of the members of the series are reported and discussed in terms of intramolecular electronic effects, conformational factors, and hydrogen bonding.
