Abstract Hyperbranched polymethacrylates were synthesized by group transfer self-condensation polymerization of 2-(2-methyl-1-triethylsiloxy-1-propenyloxy)ethyl methacrylate. The hyper-branched structure of the polymer was characterized by 13C NMR spectroscopy. The extent of the branching depended on the nucleophilic catalysts used for activation of the monomer.
