Abstract

A Fabry-Perot interferometric sensor utilizing a single-mode optical fiber has been demonstrated, exhibiting a finesse of 18 and a sensitivity to phase modulation of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">7.9 \times 10^{-7}</tex> rad/ <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">\sqrt{Hz}</tex> at 1 kHz.
