Abstract The first observations of weak room-temperature photoluminescence of a new C60 derivative: C60(NH(CHCOOMe)2) (1) and its fluorescence quenching by concentration and N,N-dimethyl aniline in CHCl3 solution are reported. Its singlet energy and fluorescence lifetime were estimated to be 40.9 kcal/mol and 1.2 ± 0.3 ns, respectively.
