A study has been made of the proton nuclear magnetic resonance frequencies in ferrous fluosilicate hexahydrate at 4.2K. It is found that the magnetic fields at the proton sites due to the ferrous ions are incompatible with the published room temperature crystal structure. The observed resonances are used to determine the proton locations and the inferences for the crystal structure are discussed. The existence of a transferred hyperfine field indicates some degree of covalent bonding between the ferrous ion and the surrounding water molecules.
