Pneumocystis Carinii Pneumonia and Progressive Vaccinia in Siblings

Abstract

The occurrence of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia and progressive vaccinia in siblings, asso- ciated with hypogammaglobulinaemia, has already been recorded (McKay and Richardson, 1959). A similar combination in siblings described here seems worthy of record, because the gamma globulin value in the sib with progressive vaccinia was pro- bably within normal limits, and in both patients there seems to have been a failure of maturation of lymphocytes.
