Gas-Phase Structure of XeF2

Abstract

The ν3 region of the spectrum of XeF2 at 560 cm−1 was studied under high resolution. The analysis of the band gives ν0 = 560.101 cm−1, B0=0.11350 cm−1, α3 = 3.31 × 10−4 cm−1, and X23 = −1.44 cm−1. The xenon–fluorine bond length obtained from B0 is 1.9773 ± 0.0015Å.
