Abstract

Oleic acid resulted in sepsis-like responses including ALI, inflammatory reaction, and increased neutrophil-derived factors. It depressed the Na+-K+-ATPase activity but up-regulated inducible nitric oxide synthase. Treatment with propofol abrogated or reversed the oleic acid-induced changes.
