Abstract In a batch operation fluidized-bed spray granulator, the granule growth mechanisms of sodium benzoate and sodium carboxymethy-cellulose (CMC-Na) as binder are studied. The model of maximum liquid feed rate is developed. The theoretical calculation is in reasonable agreement with the experimental data with mean deviation being 17. 7%.
