An unusual photonastism induced by drought in <i>Phaseolus vulgaris</i>

Abstract

The leaves of bush beans, Phaseolus vulgaris, under conditions of extreme drought and intense sunlight oriented themselves parallel to the incident light and followed the course of the sun in this position. By early morning the leaves assumed relatively normal positions.
