Abstract

The ESR-spectrum of SnO 2 : Fe 3+ consists of absorption lines which originate from Fe 3+ -ions on lattice and intersistial sites. Assuming g=2.00 the following approximate zero-field splittng-factors are obtained: |D|=0.681 cm -1 , |E|=0.072 cm -1 . A further structure of these lines is due to interactions of various strength with neighbouring tin nuclei. A SHFS is also resolved in the ESR-spectrum of Fe 3+ on intersistial sites. The origin of a few Gauss fine-structure-splitting is not yet understood.
