A new approach to the correlation polarization potential-low-energy electron elastic scattering by He atoms

Abstract

A new approach to the parameter-free correlation polarization potential for electron scattering by atoms is presented. This approach and two other widely used polarisation potentials are tested by using them to calculate the elastic total and differential cross sections for electron scattering by He atoms for low impact energy, up to 30 eV.
