Pharmaceutical implications of particle growth at high relative humidities

Abstract

Abstract Official standards governing the particle size distributions of inhalation aerosols make no allowance for the high relative humidity within the respiratory tract. Our studies suggest that distributions determined under ambient conditions provide little real information about the fate of particles within the lungs.
