Data are presented on the gain in aptitude test scores on retest for intervals of up to five years. While the strength of the retest effect was found to differ by type of test, retest effects within test type were found to be almost constant irrespective of the interval between original and retest administrations. The implications of these gains for personnel testing are discussed.
