Sarcoma of the pulmonary artery

S great blood vessels are rare. There have been a few reports of primary sarcomas in the aorta and large arteries;lO reports of primary sarcomas in the major veins have been slightly more frequent." Primary sarcoma of the pulmonary artery or valve, however, is extremely rare; only I1 cases have been recorded in the literature.l.2, 8-89 13, 2O The first review1 listed 5 reported cases and recently, 2 more reviews appeared,29 6 bringing the total number of reviewed cases to 8. All 3 reviews fell short of their objectives by either including some cardiac and metastatic sarcomas or giving an incomplete list of the published cases.
