Abstract

Detailed numerical solutions of the cosmic-ray transport equation, including drift effects in the interplanetary magnetic field, are presented. It is emphasized that the drift effect and its importance can only be judged by simultaneous simulations of all available modulation features. The model successfully simulates proton and electron spectra together with high-energy anisotropies in consecutive solar cycles, using one single set of modulation parameters. It is concluded that drift should seriously be considered to be related to all modulation phenomena which exhibit a 22 yr cycle.
