The first preparation of telechelic oligopropylene with succinic anhydride units (iPP–MA) was achieved by the ene reaction of α,ω-bis(2-propenyl)oligopropylene (iPP–TVD) with maleic anhydride. A degradable polypropylene [isotactic polypropylene-block-isotactic polypropylene (iPP-b-iPP)] was prepared with iPP–MA and dihydroxyoligopropylene (iPP–OH). iPP-b-iPP could be readily reverted to the starting oligomers by alcoholysis in supercritical methanol.
